An event was held to expand online sales opportunities for SMBs

Due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the use of digital technologies, including online sales, has expanded around the world, as well as in Azerbaijan in various sectors. Discussions and surveys conducted by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan with entrepreneurs operating in the pandemic-affected areas show that it involves certain costs, while the market observes a low demand for online sales in our country, among other things. For a number of reasons, micro and small entrepreneurs are less likely to take advantage of digital platforms.

Given the growing demand for e-commerce during the pandemic, SMBDA held an online event to inform the SMBs about online sales software.

It was noted at the online event that providing SMBs with access to knowledge and innovations is one of the activities of SMB, and during the pandemic, the Agency supported a number of SMBs to create online sales platforms in the service sector. The development of the digital economy has been identified as one of the priorities in the post-pandemic period, and it is planned to support this area by the state and attract private investment.

Sakit Samadov, head of Logix, spoke about the importance of e-commerce, the creation of a low-cost e-sales platform and the software offered by local companies in this field at an online event organized via Zoom and broadcast live on SMBDA's Facebook page. Entrepreneurs were informed and their questions were answered.
