Winners of "Create Your Business Marathon” have been announced

The winners of the "Create Your Business Marathon” – the first project of the “Sustainable Youth Employment Program”, jointly implemented by the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection and the Youth Fund, have been announced.

 

To participate in the Marathon aimed at the employment of unemployed and job-seeking youth, at the first stage, about 600 unemployed or job-seeking 18-29 years old young people posted their business ideas in the form of short videos on the program website (www. ganj.az) and in the “GencAPP” mobile application. Upon completion of the acceptance for the project, applications proposals have been assessed according to such criteria as quality, clarity, and completeness of presentation, motivation, and necessary knowledge of the project author, and 127 applications have been selected for the second stage. At the application evaluating stage, preference was given to the Patriotic war participants, those who suffered from the war, martyr family members, and young people with disabilities.

 

For those who passed to the second stage, one of the project partners – the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) performed business training.

 

99 applicants who have successfully completed the “Start your business” training and developed business plans will receive resources and funding from the State Employment Agency and the Youth Foundation in the appropriate economic field according to the choice made when registering for the project. SMBDA will also provide mentoring support to the Marathon winners to accelerate starting their small businesses.
