The twinning project with the participation of SMBDA has been completed 11.04.22

The EU project "Support to the State Statistics Committee and the State Tax Service under the Ministry of Economy to strengthen the collection, processing, analysis, publication and dissemination of data in the field of business statistics" has been completed. The Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) was also closely involved in the project.

Speaking at the event dedicated to the results of the Twinning project, SMBDA Board Chairman Orkhan Mammadov noted the importance of business statistics in terms of sectoral analysis and forecasting of the economy, as well as identification of supply and demand, efficient allocation of resources, proper production organization, dynamics analysis and more. It was noted that SMBDA is in close contact with the State Statistics Committee and closely cooperates and exchanges views on the improvement and development of business statistics in accordance with modern requirements. The project on improving business statistics implemented within the framework of the EU twinning tool is also important in this regard. In general, Azerbaijan cooperates with the European Union in the framework of twinning and technical support projects, as well as TAIEX, SIGMA, Budget Support Tools and other mechanisms. Orkhan Mammadov expressed hope that new initiatives and projects in the field of business with the European Union will be implemented in the future.
