At the event, detailed information was provided on the essence of the new technical regulations, their role in ensuring consumer safety, and the advantages their implementation will create for market participants. The opinions and proposals of the participants were also heard.
A public hearing and discussion was held at the “Baku SME House,” jointly organized by the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), on draft technical regulations prepared by the relevant state authorities, including “On the Safety of Paints, Varnishes and Solvents,” “On the Safety of Packaging,” “On the Safety of Agricultural and Forestry Tractors and Their Trailers,” “On the Safety of Highways,” “On the Safety of Railway Rolling Stock,” “On the Safety of Railway Transport Infrastructure,” “On the Safety of Construction Materials, Products and Structures,” “On the Safety of Lifts,” and “On the Safety of Amusement Rides.”
At the event, speeches were delivered by Rauf Taghiyev, Deputy Head of the SME Friend Department of KOBİA, and Elmaddin Guliyev, Head of the Standardization, Technical Regulation, and Certification Division of the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control. The speakers discussed the advantages of the new draft technical regulations in terms of ensuring the circulation of safe and high-quality products in the domestic market, protecting consumer interests, and strengthening a competitive environment for business entities. Entrepreneurs were also encouraged to actively participate in public hearings and present their proposals.
Within the framework of the event, representatives of the Ministries of Emergency Situations, Ecology and Natural Resources, Agriculture, as well as “Azerbaijan Railways” CJSC and the Azerbaijan State Agency of Motor Roads delivered presentations on the areas covered by the draft technical regulations, key safety requirements, their application within conformity assessment processes, and their role in enhancing quality standards.
The meeting concluded with a dynamic Q&A session during which participants’ questions, opinions, and suggestions were addressed.
