Online awareness-raising event for self-employment held

An online awareness-raising event was organized for micro, small and medium businesses on “Updates on existing support mechanisms in the field of self-employment” by Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan with the participation of relevant government agencies on December 17.

At the event supported by the Azerbaijan State University of Economics, the representatives from State Employment Service under the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection of Population, SMBDA and Agro Procurement and Supply OJSC informed participants about self-employment program and procedures for joining this program, state support measures and mechanisms to set up the family budget through sustainable sources of income, self-employment support projects.

During the event, representatives of the state authorities answered numerous questions. Necessary organizational and technical facilities were established at the SMBDA headquarters, as well as the “SMB Friend” Offices operating in different cities and regions of the country to ensure more convenient access of entrepreneurs to the event.

In total, about a thousand entrepreneurs benefited from an online awareness-raising event.
