KOBİA participated in the Annual Meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group 04.06.22

The traditional Annual Meeting of the Islamic Development Bank Group (IsDBG) is being held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.

Representatives of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) as part of the Azerbaijani delegation participated in the 47th Annual Meeting and the Private Sector Forum of the IsDBG held as part of the event.

During the visit, KOBİA representatives held a number of meetings with the relevant agencies of the IsDBG, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan.

During the meeting between KOBİA Chairman Orkhan Mammadov and Saudi Arabia Deputy Minister of Investment Badr Albadr, the sides exchanged views on the future prospects of business and investment in Azerbaijan and Saudi Arabia, as well as opportunities for cooperation.

During the meeting with the Minister of Treasury and Finance of Turkey Nureddin Nebati, they exchanged views on investment and opportunities for joint cooperation, as well as other issues of mutual interest.

The meeting between Tarek Shash, Deputy Executive Director of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency of Egypt, and Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of KOBİA, focused on issues arising from the Memorandum of Understanding signed earlier this year, including cooperation in startups and women's entrepreneurship, the exchange of information and experience, the organization of joint events.

Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of KOBİA also met with President of the Participation Banks Association of Türkiye Osman Celik and CEO of Halkbank Osman Arslan, Deputy Chairman of the Ayil Bank of Kyrgyzstan Maksat Erjanov and Managing Director of the Islamic Finance Fund T.L. Karimbayev, Director of the Economic Strengthening Fund of the Islamic Development Bank Group Nabil Ghalleb, Director General of the Islamic Corporation for Private Sector Development, Yernur Rusmagambetov, Chairman of the Board of the Astana International Financial Center of Kazakhstan. The issues of alternative financing, public-private partnership and other issues were discussed at the meetings.
