Twenty young individuals who volunteered at the Agency have been employed by KOBIA.
5 December marks International Volunteers Day. Among the volunteer programs operating in our country, the “KOB Volunteers” program of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA) stands out for enhancing the knowledge and skills of young people studying in the fields of management, business, and administration. Within the framework of the program, which has been implemented since 2018, volunteers gain practical skills and initial work experience by participating in real tasks and project implementation, event organization, and service processes offered to entrepreneurs.
Currently, more than 30 volunteers are active at the Agency. In total, more than 90 volunteers participated in the program in 2025, and to date, approximately 850 young people including 295 women and 554 men have joined volunteer activities at KOBIA. The majority of KOB volunteers consist of students and graduate students from the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as from Baku, Sumgayit, and Mingachevir State Universities, Azerbaijan State University of Economics, Azerbaijan University of Languages, Azerbaijan State Pedagogical University, Baku Engineering University, and Baku Slavic University.
Volunteering is an integral part of KOBIA’s human capital strategy. Within this framework, 20 young volunteers, distinguished by their activeness and initiative, have been recruited to work at the Agency.
Students of higher and secondary educational institutions may apply to KOBIA for volunteer opportunities. Those wishing to volunteer at KOBIA can register via the “Become a KOB Volunteer” section available on the Agency’s official website (www.smb.gov.az). Applications are evaluated based on predetermined criteria, and selected candidates are invited to participate in the program. Upon successful completion, volunteers are awarded a certificate confirming their three-month volunteer experience.
In connection with International Volunteers Day, Chairman of KOBIA’s Management Board Orkhan Mammadov met with the Agency’s volunteers. During the meeting, discussions were held on the volunteers’ daily activities and future career plans. Volunteers were thanked for their contributions, and it was emphasized that initiatives supporting youth development would continue. As part of the event, certificates were awarded to volunteers who completed their service.
