"Baku International CEO Summit" discussed development of public-private cooperation and strengthening of corporate governance 15.11.22

The first "Baku International CEO Summit" is taking place in Baku.

Orkhan Mammadov, the Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), spoke at the event and noted that the development of public-private cooperation and the strengthening of corporate governance are important goals in Azerbaijan's 2030 National Priorities. He also provided information on the KOBİA's efforts in this area. It was stated that KOBİA is interested in developing public-private cooperation projects. Corporate governance principles are means of increasing business competitiveness and commercial value. In this regard, commercial entities’ participation in this policy, including enhancing corporate management in business are crucial. Lack of awareness among business subjects affects the development of corporate governance issues. To raise the level of awareness of corporate governance and sustainable development among all interested parties, it is crucial to conduct diversified educational initiatives. For the promotion and advancement of corporate management, the trainings and hands-on consulting services provided to entrepreneurs in the SME development centres set up by KOBİA in various cities and regions of our country are important. Since 2021, the financing of education, science, research and support projects of SMEs has been started. This support measure implemented by KOBİA is substantial in terms of the implementation of new mechanisms and innovative projects, the scientific study and application of useful models and technological innovations affecting the activities of entrepreneurs.
