Applying the PPP model in Azerbaijan was discussed

The public-private partnership (PPP) model is widely used around the world and important for attracting private investment, implementing innovations, and effective governance. The Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) attaches great importance to studying and applying international experience in this area in our country. The Agency's Public-Private Partnership Development Center collaborates with Turkey’s Istanbul Public-Private Partnership (PPP) Center of Excellence, which has extensive experience in this field. In the past, in Azerbaijan, with the support of the Istanbul PPP Center, a number of training and informative events have been arranged with the participation of relevant governmental structures.

On July 6, the Chairman of the SMBDA Board Orhan Mammadov met with the head of the Istanbul PPP Center of Excellence Eyup Vural Aydin. During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on the current partnership and expansion of ties between the Agency and the PPP center, and the implementation of joint initiatives. It was noted that Azerbaijan had wide opportunities to expand the use of the PPP mechanism. The PPP model can also be applied in the restoration of economic and social infrastructure in the territories liberated from occupation.
