The concept of the 9th Plenary Meeting and the 11th Business Forum of the CICA Business Council was discussed at the event.
An online meeting of the Management Board of the Business Council of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia (CICA) was held with the organization of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA).
At the meeting, the Secretary General of CICA, Ambassador Kairat Sarybay, provided information on the priorities of the Business Council for 2026 and the strengthening of practical cooperation among the member states.
The Chairman of the CICA Business Council and Chairman of the Management Board of KOBİA, Orkhan Mammadov, spoke about the Council’s activities in 2025, the main directions of cooperation among the member states of the organization, as well as the plans envisaged for 2026.
Within the framework of the meeting, the concept of the 9th Plenary Meeting and the 11th Business Forum of the CICA Business Council was presented. It was proposed that the events be held in Baku in September 2026 on the topic of “Entrepreneurship Ecosystems for Competitive and Inclusive SME Development in the CICA Region”. During the meeting, an exchange of views was held on urban development and business opportunities for SMEs, youth entrepreneurship and challenges, business incubators and entrepreneurship support infrastructure, business models for the development and adaptation of SMEs, as well as support measures for entrepreneurs.
Then, the members of the Business Council – representatives of Kazakhstan, Russia and Thailand – shared their views and proposals on the proposed agenda and concept. The participants of the meeting expressed their support for the priorities of the CICA Business Council for 2026 and noted the continuation of consultations on the preparation process and organizational matters related to the 9th Plenary Meeting and the 11th Business Forum.
It should be noted that Azerbaijan holds the chairmanship of CICA for the period 2024–2026. On behalf of Azerbaijan, the Business Council under CICA is headed by KOBİA.
