An online meeting held with the owners of greenhouses

On June 17, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan organized another online meeting with entrepreneurs of greenhouses operating in different regions of the country.

The online meeting held within the framework of the state-entrepreneur dialogue was attended by SMBDA, Azerigas Production Union, Azerishig OJSC, Agrarian Credit and Development Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture, Tariff and Price Policy Department of the Ministry of Economy, SOCAR Petroleum CJSC, representatives of the company, as well as owners of about 50 greenhouses.

The meeting focused on the difficulties faced by entrepreneurs with the sale and export of products due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, the price of gas supplied to greenhouses, concessions on debts for gas consumption, fuel oil supply, difficulties in managing modern greenhouses, vegetable processing, connection to electricity grid and other matters were reviewed and answered.

Representatives of relevant agencies responded to a number of issues raised by entrepreneurs during the online meeting, and it was stated that the issues requiring investigation will be reviewed and entrepreneurs will be informed through SMB friends.

All issues raised by entrepreneurs at the meeting will be taken into account by SMBDA and measures will be taken together with the relevant agencies to support their solution within the legislation.
