The Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan held a video conference with members of the Public Council under the Agency to study the difficulties faced by entrepreneurs during the pandemic and discuss the expectations of entrepreneurs on additional state support measures.

The online event was attended by representatives of SMBDA, and 15 non-governmental organizations and heads of associations uniting te hundreds of entrepreneurs, representing the Public Council under the Agency.

Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of SMBDA, congratulated the entrepreneurs represented in the Public Council under the Agency on April 25th - "Entrepreneurs' Day" and highlighted the work done in our country to fight coronavirus pandemic, including support measures for entrepreneurs under the leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. It was noted that business activity had decreased due to the pandemic, and entrepreneurs faced many difficulties. The state implements various support measures to help entrepreneurs overcome these difficulties with fewer losses. Emphasizing the social solidarity of entrepreneurs with the Azerbaijani state, the chairman of SMBDA said that we would overcome the existing difficulties with joint efforts.

Entrepreneurs participating in the video conference highlighted various difficulties they faced in connection with the pandemic and expressed their expectations.

It was noted that the proposals highlighted during the online event would be submitted to the relevant government agencies, as well as public discussions on various topics by Public Council under the SMBDA continue as a video conference.

Yunus Abdulov, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Banks Association, was elected Deputy Chairman of the Public Council under SMBDA.
