A Meeting Was Held with Female Inmates at Penitentiary Institution No. 4 of the Penitentiary Service

As part of its ongoing efforts, the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs, in cooperation with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan’s Penitentiary Service, continues to implement initiatives at Penitentiary Institution No. 4 aimed at facilitating the social reintegration of formerly incarcerated women and improving their socio-economic conditions.

In this context, a meeting was organized with female inmates who have less than six months remaining on their sentence. The initiative, which seeks to prepare these women for release and to support their prompt employment by taking into account their professional skills, was held through the joint collaboration of the State Committee, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), and the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population.

During the meeting, Jamila Baghirova -Head of Department at the State Committee, Juma Nabiyev- Head of Department at the State Employment Agency and Kamran Baghirzada - Head of Department at KOBIA, provided information on ensuring employment opportunities for women in accordance with their professional abilities and highlighted the support mechanisms offered by the relevant institutions in this area.

The inmates scheduled for release were given the opportunity to share their experiences and discuss their skills and professional backgrounds in detail.
