The “Youth Business Workshop” Project Successfully Continues

A meeting was held with the graduates of a vocational education center equipped with the necessary tools and equipment, marking the successful completion of the “Youth Business Workshop” project.

Implemented in partnership between the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), the State Employment Agency under the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, and the State Agency for Vocational Education under the Ministry of Education, the project continues to provide assets to its participants. Within the framework of the project, 28 graduates of the Gabala State Vocational Education Center successfully completed business training and were supplied with equipment. They will operate in various fields, including flour production, tailoring, printing services, beauty salons, and auto-electrical services. Notably, one graduate has already launched entrepreneurial activity in the field of flour production.

Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of KOBIA’s Management Board, together with Galib Nabiyev, Director of the Gabala State Vocational Education Center, met with the participants of the “Youth Business Workshop” project. During the meeting, graduates shared their impressions of the project and exchanged views on their entrepreneurial activities and future plans.

KOBIA representatives also visited the operations of “Gülüm” Confectionery House, established by a young entrepreneur who benefitted from the “Youth Business Workshop” project.

It should be noted that the “Youth Business Workshop” project was launched in 2021. Its purpose is to enhance the business skills of young people receiving vocational education, to encourage them to engage in entrepreneurial activity, ensure their self-employment, support new business initiatives, and increase interest in vocational education. The project also plays an important role in preparing youth for the labor market and ensuring sustainable employment. To date, 65 graduates from vocational schools in Baku, Absheron, Gabala, Aghdam, Jalilabad, Tovuz, Kurdamir, Aghstafa, Masalli, Ganja, and Shamkir have been provided with the necessary equipment under the project.

Additionally, KOBIA representatives visited a furniture and door manufacturing enterprise operating in Tuntul village of Gabala, which has begun exporting with the Agency’s support. During the visit, an exchange of views took place with the entrepreneur regarding business development and the role of state support in expanding export opportunities.
