As of July 1, 2022, the number of individual entrepreneurs registered to engage in entrepreneurial activity without creating a legal entity has exceeded 1 million 193 thousand.


The State Statistics Committee reported to   AZERTAC that during the reporting period, three out of every four individual entrepreneurs engaged in "Agriculture, forestry and fishing", "Trade; repair of vehicles", "Transportation and warehousing" and "Providing services in other areas" are registered. The main part of individual entrepreneurs who intend to engage in entrepreneurship are registered in Baku (28 percent), Lankaran-Astara (10 percent), Gazakh-Tovuz (7.6 percent) and Central Aran (6.9 percent) economic regions. 78.3 percent of individual entrepreneurs were men, and 21.7 percent were women. Women make up 32.4 percent of the total number of existing entrepreneurs in the "Providing services in other fields" activity, 24.4 percent in the "Agriculture, forestry and fishing" activity field, 21 percent in the "Trade; repair of vehicles" field of activity. 30.5 percent of women entrepreneurs are registered in Baku, 10.2 percent in Lankaran-Astara, 9 percent in Gazakh-Tovuz, and the rest in other economic regions. It is clear from the gender distribution of individual entrepreneurs by region that the share of female entrepreneurs in economic districts Gazakh-Tovuz (25.6 percent), Ganja-Dashkasan (25 percent), Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic (23.8 percent), Baku (23.7 percent), Lankaran-Astara (22 percent) is higher than the national average.
