The business community must take an active part in the fight against the pandemic

An online meeting was held to strengthen public participation and control in the fight against the pandemic.

The meeting was organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) with the participation of officials of the Ministry of Economy, members of parliament, public organizations and business associations. They stressed the importance of active participation in events, strengthening social responsibility and public condemnation of negligent attitude towards coronavirus infection. It was noted that serious public condemnation should be applied against citizens and entrepreneurs who disregard and fail to comply with special quarantine, necessary rules of social behavior and sanitary-epidemiological requirements. The public association and private organizations need to be more active in this area and ensure compliance with established requirements and contribute to awareness-raising. It was noted that this difficult fight can be overcome only with the state-business-civil unity.

The leaders of public organizations and business associations, who took part in the online meeting, stressed their solidarity in the fight against the pandemic. During the video conference, the sides exchanged views on joint projects, awareness-raising activities, organization of public actions within the state-business-civil society platform to support systematic measures implemented by the Azerbaijani government. The proposals were accounted for and actions on specific projects were agreed upon.
