Entrepreneurs can access the results of these market studies via the official website of the Agency.
Internal market research has been carried out in seven strategic areas: demand for cold storage facilities, the potential of ecological tourism in Azerbaijan, production of leather and leather goods, establishment of textile enterprises, prospects for the development of agricultural processing and industrial facilities in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, and availability of local raw material reserves for construction purposes.
Initiated by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), these studies provide comprehensive information on sectoral development, production and export potential, required workforce, sales channels, pricing, government support mechanisms, and more. Such insights are especially valuable for entrepreneurs looking to establish or expand their business activities in the relevant fields.
The full research findings are accessible through KOBIA’s website at www.smb.gov.az.
It should be noted that KOBIA offers both informational and financial support to micro, small, and medium-sized business entities for the purpose of conducting internal market research. In accordance with the "Rules for Providing State Support to Internal Market Research Aimed at Stimulating Competitive Production by Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises," approved by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated May 29, 2019, 80% of the cost of each market study carried out upon the request of a micro-enterprise, and 50% of the cost for those conducted at the request of a small enterprise, is covered by the state. In total, up to 20,000 AZN in support may be allocated per market study.
Based on the requests and needs of entrepreneurs, KOBIA regularly initiates internal market research.
To date, a total of 61 internal market studies have been conducted 28 based on entrepreneurs’ requests and 33 initiated by KOBIA.
