Requests for for supporting of micro and small businesses in accessing trade networks have begun 21.01.22

From January 21, micro and small businesses can apply to the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) for support in accessing trade networks.

Applications must be submitted electronically to the Agency. The relevant application form is posted on the official website of SMBDA: https://bit.ly/3nJCSaA

It should be noted that the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 1, 2021 approved the "Rules to support the expansion of sales of products produced by micro and small businesses in trade networks." As a rule, support will be provided by SMBDA.

The support is available to micro and small entrepreneurs. As part of this support, the size of the point of sale to be used by the entrepreneur in the trade facility is 50 cm, and the period of placement of products in the sales area is 3 months. The micro-business entity will pay 20% of the rent for the area of its use, and the small business entity will pay 50%.

Information on the points of sale leased by SMBDA in trade facilities will be posted on the official website of the Agency (www.smb.gov.az).

The following criteria will be taken into account when selecting entrepreneurs who will benefit from the support:

- production of the product for the first time in Azerbaijan;

- potential to replace the import of the product;

- production in other regions except Baku and Absheron region;

- Lack of experience of the entrepreneur in access to trade networks.
