Meeting with the World Intellectual Property Organization 24.06.23

The Discussion was held at the meeting between KOBİA and the World Intellectual Property Organization on the development of startups and innovative entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, support for SMBs regarding intellectual property and the opportunities for joint cooperation with WIPO in this regard.

Hasan Kleib Kichic, Deputy Director General of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), who is on a visit to Baku, and Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of the Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), met.

At the meeting, ideas were exchanged on the development of startups and innovative entrepreneurship in Azerbaijan, support for SMBs on intellectual property, and opportunities for joint cooperation with WIPO to this effect.

It is worth noting that WIPO is the specialized agency of the UN in the field of intellectual property. This international organization, bringing together 193 countries in its ranks, promotes creativity, unites the efforts of member states in the field of protection of all types of literary and artistic works and objects of industrial property, and supports the development of intellectual property. Azerbaijan has been a member of WIPO since 1995.
