At the meeting of the "Environmental, social and corporate governance standards" subgroup of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings, the work done in implementing the Road Map for 2023 on stimulating and promoting the application of ESG principles was discussed.

A meeting of the subgroup on "Environmental, social and corporate governance (ESG) standards" of the "Corporate governance, investments and corporate social responsibility" Working Group of the Commission on Business Environment and International Rankings was held.

The online meeting organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) was attended by the representatives of the 

Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ministries of Economy, Ecology and Natural Resources, Labor and Social Protection of Population and Energy, Central Bank, Azerbaijan Investment Holding, as well as representatives of Center for Analysis Economic Reforms and Communication, Azerbaijan Industrial Corporation, State Oil Company, American Chamber of Commerce in Azerbaijan (AMCHAM), a number of international and local companies.

At the meeting, discussions were held on work done in implementing the Road map for 2023 on stimulating and promoting the application of ESG principles, upcoming tasks and the directions of action for the remaining part of the year, including the local legislative framework and current requirements on ESG elements, the experience of leading countries, and the measures implemented to enhance the level of knowledge and awareness in the relevant field. Recommendations were made to expand information exchange, involve stakeholders representing the private sector more actively in the process, and launch ESG initiatives using the existing platform in order to effectively organize the implementation process.
