KOBİA informs about its support to female entrepreneurs

An event was organized as part of the FAO-Azerbaijan Partnership Program on the project "Increasing the Economic Power of Women in Agriculture" with the support of the Agrarian Credit and Development Agency (AKİA) of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

At the event attended by representatives of state agencies and international organizations, the Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency Orkhan Mammadov noted that sustainable economic development of every country is directly related to the development of women's entrepreneurship. It was emphasized that the weight of women's entrepreneurship is currently increasing both globally and in our country, women are showing more interest in self-employment and creating small businesses. Statistics show that more than 21% of private entrepreneurs are women, and women's activity in economic development continues with increasing dynamics. One of the areas where women entrepreneurs are more active is the agricultural sector, and in this regard, women have an important role in the development of agriculture. KOBİA implements appropriate measures to promote the growth of women's entrepreneurship in various fields, including the agricultural sector, and to further increase the number of women among small and medium entrepreneurs, taking into account the development priorities and national characteristics of the country's economy. SME friends of the Agency are also closely involved in the joint projects of AKİA and FAO. In addition, KOBİA implements special projects and programs for women entrepreneurs with its own resources, as well as the participation of the private sector, business associations and international organizations.
