KOBİA celebrates its 5th anniversary 28.12.22

An event was held on the 5-year activity of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA), established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated December 28, 2017.

The event was commenced with the national anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a minute’s silence in memory of our martyrs who fell for our territorial integrity.

Assistant to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Head of the Department of Economic Issues and Innovative Development Policy of the Presidential Administration Mr. Shahmar Movsumov, Minister of Economy Mr. Mikayil Jabbarov, and Chairman of the Board of KOBİA Mr. Orkhan Mammadov, spoke at the opening ceremony of the event.

In his speech, Mr. Orkhan Mammadov, the Chairman of the Board of KOBİA, gave information about the services and support measures rendered to entrepreneurs during the 5-year period of the Agency’s activity, as well as the innovations planned for entrepreneurs in 2023 and expressed his gratitude to the relevant institutions for their support and close cooperation with the work of the Agency in the past 5 years.

As a part of the event, “Taraggi” medals were presented to the persons awarded for their contribution to the economic development of our country and effective activities in the field of entrepreneurship by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated April 25, 2022. At the event, the “Dayag” award, which bears a symbolic gesture and is an indicator of the state’s constant support for entrepreneurs, was also presented in several nominations such as “Successful Manufacturer”, “Successful Startup”, “Successful Activities in the Field of Sports and Health”, “Successful Farmer”, “Introduction of Modern Security Technologies in Karabakh”, “On Guard for Health”, “Clean Environment and Green Growth”, "Restoration and reconstruction activities in liberated areas", "Bank supporting SMBs", "Active exporting company", "Tourism", "Active foreign company", "Successful female entrepreneur", "Support for networking of SMBs" and "Young entrepreneur". The heads of relevant government agencies presented the awards to entrepreneurs.

The award was presented to entrepreneurs for the first time this year. The award aims to stimulate companies that stand out for their activities throughout the year, apply innovative and modern approaches in the field of business, and produce export-oriented products and services. Films dedicated to the establishment of entrepreneurial activity in the liberated territories and the 5-year activity of KOBİA were also displayed at the event.
