Increasing the role of businesses in the "green economy" and expanding the application of governance principles were discussed.

The 1st Baku International Conference on environmental, social and governance was held. Representatives of state agencies and entrepreneurs took part in the event held with organization of "GEM ESG Consulting".

Speaking at the event, Chairman of the Board of Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) Orkhan Mammadov touched on the importance of enhancing the role of businesses in the "green economy" and expanding the application of governance principles. It was noted that corporate social responsibility (CSR) measures of business entities are beneficial not only for society but also for companies. The Azerbaijani business community maintains the historical heritage and pays attention to the principles of corporate social responsibility in its activities. During the "COVID-19" pandemic, the Patriotic War, as well as during the recent earthquake in brotherly Türkiye, local entrepreneurs actively contributed to support measures. KOBİA regularly promotes CSR, carries out various programs, projects and initiatives in this field.
