On 9 December, within the framework of the “Year of the Constitution and Sovereignty,” an event entitled “Heydar Aliyev Summit” was held, jointly organized by the Central Office of the New Azerbaijan Party (YAP) and the Party’s Narimanov District Organization.

The event began with the laying of flowers at the bust of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.

At the ceremony held at the Baku SME House, the memory of Heydar Aliyev and of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan was honored with a minute of silence, followed by the performance of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Opening the event with an introductory speech, Elchin Guliyev, Chairman of the YAP Narimanov District Organization, spoke about the historic contributions of the National Leader. He emphasized that Heydar Aliyev is the architect of Azerbaijan’s development strategy: “Thanks to the wise policies implemented under the leadership of his worthy successor, President Ilham Aliyev, Azerbaijan has transformed into a powerful and victorious nation. At the pinnacle of these achievements stands the liberation of our occupied territories and the restoration of our territorial integrity and sovereignty.”

The moderator of the event, Zakkiya Musayeva, Head of the Gender Policy and Youth Affairs Department of YAP’s Central Office, spoke about Heydar Aliyev’s unparalleled role in the development of the country.

Musayeva noted that as the founder of the modern independent Azerbaijani state, Heydar Aliyev’s name is eternally engraved in the nation’s history: “Today, the independent Azerbaijan built by National Leader Heydar Aliyev continues its progress under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, reaching new heights. As a result of long-term targeted policies in the economic, political, military, and diplomatic spheres, Azerbaijan secured a glorious Victory in the Patriotic War, and through localized anti-terror measures, fully restored its sovereignty.”

Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBIA), Orkhan Mammadov, emphasized that Heydar Aliyev is a distinguished statesman who left an indelible mark on the history of the Azerbaijani people the architect and founder of the modern Azerbaijani state, known in world politics for his wisdom, foresight, and determination.

Mammadov highlighted that one of Heydar Aliyev’s greatest historic achievements was the establishment of the Azerbaijani economy on new philosophical foundations:

“Entrepreneurship and business activity hold a special place in the economic strategy of the National Leader. Heydar Aliyev regarded entrepreneurship as a fundamental pillar of national economic strength. It was under his leadership that the legal framework for entrepreneurship was formed for the first time, and principles such as the inviolability of private property, free competition, a favorable investment climate, and the support of SMEs became integral components of state policy.”

O. Mammadov added that all mechanisms created today for the development of entrepreneurship investment promotion, concessional financing, digital services, and modern economic approaches to improving the business environment are successfully continued and advanced by President Ilham Aliyev, based on the foundations established by the National Leader.

Member of the YAP Veterans’ Council and Doctor of Historical Sciences Dilara Seyidzada delivered a keynote speech, noting the irreplaceable services of Heydar Aliyev to the Azerbaijani people: “The Azerbaijani nation is fortunate to have had such a great Leader. As citizens of an independent country, we have passed through difficult stages. The preservation and strengthening of this independence became possible thanks to the National Leader. Heydar Aliyev was both the creator and consolidator of independent Azerbaijan, the person who introduced our country to the world and guided it confidently towards the future.”

Seyidzada added that after the restoration of state independence, Heydar Aliyev returned to power at the insistence of the people during the country’s most challenging times.

She highlighted Heydar Aliyev’s profound love for the homeland and quoted his belief that preserving independence is even more difficult than attaining it.

Referring to the “Iron Fist” operation, she noted:

“In that Iron Fist, I see the unity of our people. This is national unity the realization of Heydar Aliyev’s dream. In 44 days, Azerbaijan proved to the whole world that it is a victorious nation. This is the result of Heydar Aliyev’s policy.”

Seyidzada also emphasized that the extensive reconstruction and restoration work ongoing in the liberated territories demonstrates the continuation of Heydar Aliyev’s policy under President Ilham Aliyev, ensuring development across all spheres.

The event continued in an interactive format, with participants’ questions being answered.

Afterwards, membership cards were presented to newly admitted members of the New Azerbaijan Party.

The ceremony concluded with the performance of the Anthem of the New Azerbaijan Party.
