First meeting of the Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council held 12.04.23

At the first meeting of the Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council, which was held in the city of Riyadh, the expansion of relations between businessmen, the implementation of joint initiatives, the prospects of cooperation in the field of business and trade were subject of discussion.

Representatives of business support institutions in Azerbaijan, as well as business people operating in tourism, agriculture, industry, construction, investment, transport, and consulting, etc. sectors are on a visit to Saudi Arabia.

The first meeting of the Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council was held in the city of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Officials and businesspeople from both countries took part in the meeting held with the joint organization of the Federation of Chambers of Saudi Arabia, the Ministry of Investment and the Small and Medium Business Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (KOBİA).

Speaking at the event, Mohammed Al Hassnah, Deputy Minister of Investment of Saudi Arabia, co-chairs of Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia-Joint Business Council - Ahmed Ali Al Dakhil and Chairman of the Board of KOBİA Orkhan Mammadov, Vugar Zeynalov, Vice President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan, Zohrab Gadirov, Deputy Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Agency – AZPROMO, and Turki Alhokair, Deputy Chairman of the Business Council, provided information about the opportunities for cooperation between the business circles of our countries in the field of trade and investment, the purpose of establishing the council, and the visit of the delegation of businesspeople of KOBİA and Azerbaijan to Saudi Arabia.

As part of the event, presentations were made by KOBİA and AZPROMO on business and investment opportunities of our country, export potential, support and services provided to local and foreign businesspersons, as well as prospects of cooperation in the field of business and trade by Azerbaijani businesspersons.

The Ministry of Investment and Export Development Department of Saudi Arabia made presentations on the investment potential of this country, the opportunities formed for businesspersons, and the products and services.

In the "B2B" meetings organized subsequent to the event, prospects such as exchange of information and experience, opportunities for cooperation, organization of joint events and meetings, and mutual business missions were discussed between the SMBs of the two countries.

Note: The Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council was established in December 2022 pursuant to the Agreement signed between KOBİA and the Federation of Chambers of Saudi Arabia. The Azerbaijan-Saudi Arabia Joint Business Council represented through businesspeople from both countries, is set out to support entrepreneurs' initiatives, help establish direct relations between them, organize mutual visits, meetings and various events, and exchange information between businessmen.
