Event was held on the topic of “Development of Entrepreneurship is a Strong Economy” 29.04.26

An appeal to the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, was adopted on behalf of the participants of the event.

On 29 April, an event was held on the topic of “Development of Entrepreneurship is a Strong Economy”, dedicated to Entrepreneurs’ Day, with the support of the Ministry of Economy, and organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan.

First, the participants of the event visited the grave of National Leader Heydar Aliyev in the Alley of Honor, commemorated his memory with respect, and laid a wreath in front of his monument. The memory of the prominent ophthalmologist-scientist, academician Zarifa Aliyeva, was also commemorated with respect, and flower bouquets were placed on her grave. The participants of the event also commemorated with respect the memory of our heroes who gave their lives for the independence and territorial integrity of Azerbaijan in the Alley of Martyrs and laid a wreath at the “Eternal Flame” memorial complex.

Heads of relevant state institutions, representatives of public associations of entrepreneurs, as well as businesspersons operating in various fields participated in the event.

At the event, Minister of Economy Mikayil Jabbarov, Minister of Labour and Social Protection of the Population Anar Aliyev, Member of Parliament and Chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Industry and Entrepreneurship Azer Amiraslanov, Chairman of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Anar Guliyev, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women and Children Affairs Bahar Muradova, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation Sahib Mammadov, Chairman of the Management Board of KOBİA Orkhan Mammadov, President of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers) Organizations of Azerbaijan Mammad Musayev and Chairman of the Management Board of the Azerbaijan Construction Manufacturers Association Ramiz Isayev delivered speeches. In the speeches, the leading role of the private sector in the sustainable development of the country’s economy and in ensuring employment was particularly emphasized. It was emphasized that the foundation of entrepreneurship formation and development in the country was laid by National Leader Heydar Aliyev, and that this policy is currently being successfully continued by the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in line with modern challenges. It was noted that the legislative framework for the development of entrepreneurial activity is regularly improved, administrative procedures are simplified, continuous measures are taken to further improve the business environment, financial and institutional support mechanisms provided to entrepreneurs are expanded, and various incentive and stimulation measures are applied.

It was also noted that the development of small and medium-sized businesses is among the priorities of economic policy, and that cooperation between the public and private sectors continues to expand.

At the end of the event, an appeal to President Ilham Aliyev was adopted on behalf of the participants of the event.

The event ended with an artistic part.

It should be noted that on 25 April 2002, National Leader Heydar Aliyev held a historic meeting with local entrepreneurs, and in May a historic meeting with foreign businesspersons. By the Order of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev dated 21 April 2016, this significant date is observed in the country as Entrepreneurs’ Day.
