Enterprise supported by SMBDA in Oguz region has started to supply tobacco

With the support and services of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA), the first supply of products has started at a tobacco drying plant in the village of Sinjan, Oguz region. Cultivation, supply and drying of tobacco in the enterprise established on the basis of foreign investment is carried out in accordance with modern technologies.

SMBDA provided support and services to the investor in the establishment and expansion of the enterprise in Oguz region, coordination with public and private institutions, and the use of state support mechanisms for entrepreneurship. The company was also issued an investment promotion certificate, which exempts the company from 50% of income tax, property and land taxes, VAT and customs duties on imported equipment and facilities for a period of 7 years.

A Japanese investor has invested $ 2.2 million in the enterprise. At present, 26 people are employed at the enterprise.

The company plans to increase its 210-hectare tobacco farm in Gabala, Oguz and Tovuz districts to 900 hectares in the coming years, including Sheki, Zagatala, Gakh and Balakan districts.

It is also planned to hold joint trainings with SMBDA to educate tobacco farmers in the areas where the enterprise operates.

Volunteers from the Gabala-Oguz "SMEB Friend" office and the Gabala Youth Development and Career Center also took part in the first supply of tobacco products. The volunteers got acquainted with the activities of the enterprise and the product supply process and gained practical skills in this field.
