Directions of the strategic investment projects for which the investment promotion document is to be issued have been approved 02.02.24

By the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated February 1, 2024, directions of the strategic investment projects for which the investment promotion document is to be issued have been approved have been approved.

These include:

1. Production projects based on local raw material base (metal ore, oil, gas, chemical, construction materials and cotton fields);

2. Energy production projects from renewable energy sources;

3. Waste management and recycling projects;

4. Sea water desalination projects;

5. Projects of establishment of private industrial districts;

6. Production projects of non-oil industry enterprises privatized through investment competitions after January 1, 2023;

7. "First in Azerbaijan" projects implemented aimed at establishing areas of economic activities, whose production is organized for the first time in the Republic of Azerbaijan, promoting the level of self-sufficiency with local products (substitution of imports) or boosting the export potential of the non-oil sector;

8. Aircraft operation and maintenance projects;

9. Projects for the repair of the rolling stock of the railway and the production of its spare parts;

10. Projects for the production of military products;

11. Aluminium products manufacturing projects;

12. Public-private partnership projects (such as private sector projects to generate power with government purchasing obligations);

13. Accommodation project within the COP29 international event.
