The Ministry of Economy held an online meeting with the heads and managers of large market chains. The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Economy Niyazi Safarov, other senior officials of the ministry and representatives of the TABIB Medical Territorial Units Management Association.

Organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA), the event discussed the compliance with the sanitary epidemiological rules to prevent the spread of the disease. The entrepreneurs were reminded of the need to ensure the sellers, consumers use protective equipment, maintain social distance, and limited numbers of consumers in the market at a given time, as well as ensure with disinfection of commercial facilities. It was noted that the negative effects of the pandemic may last for a long time. In this regard, both society and entrepreneurs must adapt to the new requirements, and businesses must learn to work on the basis of new conditions, sanitary-quarantine and social-behavioral rules. It is also important for businesses to get used to the new rules quickly. It was noted that in order to monitor compliance with these requirements, the Ministry of Economy together with the relevant agencies will continue monitoring and serious measures will be taken against commercial facilities that fail to comply with the established requirements.
