Blood Donation Campaign Held

Entrepreneurs and company employees actively participated in the blood donation campaign organized under the motto “One Drop of Blood, A Thousand Hopes Revived.”

The voluntary blood donation event was jointly organized by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) and the National Association of Entrepreneurs (ICMA), in partnership with Marsol Group, Melhem International Hospital, the National Hematology and Transfusiology Center of the Ministry of Health, and the Republican Blood Bank.

Dedicated to September 27-Memorial Day, the campaign titled “One Drop of Blood, A Thousand Hopes Revived” was held at Baku SME House, the Republican Blood Bank, and Melhem International Hospital. Entrepreneurs, company staff, and representatives of KOBİA, ICMA, and Marsol Group joined the event as donors. Prior to donation, each participant underwent a health check by hematologists, and blood was drawn only after comprehensive medical examinations.

This was the second time the campaign was organized, and it took place on a larger scale this year. In addition to Baku, blood donation events were also held in Shaki, Lankaran, and Khachmaz on September 25-26.

In total, nearly 800 individuals from Baku and the regions donated blood. The collected blood will be used for the treatment of patients with hemophilia, thalassemia, and other conditions requiring blood transfusion.

It should be noted that during last year’s campaign, approximately 500 people donated blood.
