Baku Coalition Declaration for the Green Climate Transition of SMBs Garners Support from the Private Sector, too

The number of organizations and entities supporting the Baku Coalition Declaration for the Green Climate Transition of SMBs, initiated by the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (KOBİA) as part of the Year of Solidarity for a Green World' and COP29, continues to grow.

Other business representatives, including "Azersun Holding" LLC and the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs (Employers') Organizations of Azerbaijan (ASK), have signed the declaration, expressing their support for the green transition. Consequently, memorandums of agreement have been signed between KOBİA, ASK, and "Azersun Holding" LLC to that effect. Under the framework of the declaration, the parties are set to cooperate and carry out joint activities in areas such as climate change, green technologies, green entrepreneurship, the green economy, awareness-raising, and environmental rehabilitation initiatives.

It is worth noting that the "Baku Coalition Declaration for the Green Climate Transition of SMBs" aims to combine global efforts for the transition of SMBs to a green economy. This document sets forth commitment of raising  awareness and capacity building, improving access to green finance, and promoting innovation to contribute small businesses adopt best practices. Also, the declaration emphasizes cooperation and solutions to integrate SMBs into green supply chains and facilitate their transition to net-zero emissions. The International Trade Center, Brazil’s Micro and Small Business Support Service (SEBRAE), and the UN Climate Change High-Level Champion Nigar Arpadarai have already signed the relevant declaration, expressing their support.
