As part of the UNEC Economic Forum, panel discussions are held on the topic "Promoting new business models in the post-pandemic period: adapting to new challenges"

The UNEC Economic Forum 2021, arranged by the Azerbaijan State Economic University (UNEC), is underway from December 1.

The chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) Orkhan Mammadov also spoke at the panel “Promoting new business models in the post-pandemic period: adapting to new challenges”, arranged on the third day of the forum. It was noted that the global COVID-19 pandemic has had a number of negative economic and social consequences, which, in turn, have created new realities. Creating a sustainable economy, improving the preparedness for unforeseen shocks, developing the business environment based on modern innovative technologies have become priority issues. In this regard, according to experts, automation, digitalization, artificial intelligence, and green technologies will become trends determining the global economic landscape in the coming decades. The transformation of business models will be essential in terms of creating new value for business and society as a whole in the post-pandemic period. Public-private partnership and clustering are beneficial models for involving the private sector and mobilizing resources to implement the agenda of economic transformation in response to new challenges. These business models can be widely applied in the reconstruction of Karabakh liberated from the occupation and the reintegration of the country into the economic value chain.

The SMBDA chairman stressed that the Agency has taken appropriate support measures in a number of areas to develop new business models in the post-pandemic period, and informed of the organization's support and services.
