An exchange of views on cooperation in the field of SMB was held with the British Ambassador to Azerbaijan

James Lyle Sharp, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland to Azerbaijan visited the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Development of micro, small and medium business in Azerbaijan, activities of SMBDA in the field, as well as existing cooperation with relevant UK authorities in the field of SMB, were discussed at the meeting with Orkhan Mammadov, Chairman of the Board of SMBDA. Discussion on the development of cooperation between the two countries in the framework of the Joint Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland was positively assessed, and its importance was highlighted in expanding relations in the relevant field. At the meeting, the initiatives and projects of the Agency related to SMBs were highlighted, and cooperation with relevant UK authorities and support opportunities in the field were discussed. Ambassador James Lyle Sharp called the Azerbaijani SMBs to be more active in the events organized by the relevant UK agencies and said they would provide support in this field.
