A press conference took place in connection with the International Business Forum to be held in Baku

On October 15, the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) held a press conference dedicated to the 25th International Business Forum (IBF) to be held on November 14-17 in Baku.

The press conference, arranged jointly by SMBDA and the Turkish Association of Independent Industrialists and Businessmen (MUSIAD), was attended by the ambassador of the Republic of Turkey to Azerbaijan Jahit Bagchi, chairman of the MUSIAD Board Mahmut Asmali, chairman of the SMBDA Board Orkhan Mammadov, president of the IBF Forum, founder of MUSIAD Erol Yarar, and chairman of the MUSIAD Azerbaijan Board Abdurrahman Uzun.

The event provided detailed information on the International Business Forum and answered questions of the Azerbaijani and Turkish media representatives.

It was noted that the International Business Forum, held annually in different countries since 1995, is aimed at developing bilateral trade and economic relations between countries, creating models of sustainable cooperation, strengthening investment cooperation and business ties, as well as reviving trade and economic partnership and implementing joint initiatives in the post-COVID period. Within the framework of the 24th IBF forum in Istanbul, Turkey, in November 2020, the SMBDA and the IBF leadership agreed to hold an appropriate event in Baku. To this end, on July 6, 2021, the parties signed a Memorandum of Understanding. The forum will be arranged by ARMSB, MUSIAD, and IBF with the support of the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Turkey. As part of the forum, panel discussions, country presentations, bilateral meetings, exhibitions, and other events will be arranged with the participation of state officials, businessmen, representatives of international organizations, diplomatic corps, chambers of commerce and industry, and business associations of 25 IBF member countries.

Within the framework of the forum, it is also planned to familiarize a wide range of investors with Azerbaijan’s favorable business and investment climate and establish direct contacts between local and foreign investors. At the forum, businessmen and investors will also be familiarized with the economic and investment potential of our territories, liberated from occupation thanks to the determination of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev and the courage of the Azerbaijani Army, and attracting investors from IBF member countries to projects to be implemented in the Karabakh region will be encouraged.

Note that today, the MUSIAD leadership also met with the minister of economy Mikayil Jabbarov.
